The Unique Bowing of Yom Kippur

With Rabbi Ruth Gan Kagan

In this recorded class, Rabbi Ruth Gan Kagan explores the embodied practice of full prostration on Yom Kippur, and its connection to the inner. work of the day.

This class is taken from Rabbi Ruth's course, Spiritual Tools for the High Holidays, where you can find the source sheet, and which you can find here.

Yom Kippur: Transcending Shame

With Rabbi Ami Silver

In this recorded class, R' Ami Silver explores two related and crucial aspects of Yom Kippur, and our experience of them today: confession and the emotion of shame.

Yom Kippur is oftentimes considered the most sacred day of the year. It is a day of atonement and internal cleansing. One of the central practices of this day is confessing our sins and misdeeds.

This session focuses on a teaching from the Chassidic master Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772-1810) that offers a paradigm for using this practice of confession to transcend our sense of shame and smallness, and bring more of ourselves into presence.

The class is taken from the High Holidays: A Time for Transformation course, where you can find the source sheet, and which you can enjoy here.

Yom Kippur: Forgiving Ourselves and Others

With R' Daniel Raphael Silverstein

In this recorded class, we explore the work of forgiving ourselves and others in both theory and practice as we approach Yom Kippur.

Our exploration is based in large part on the writings of Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook, a unique leader, poet and mystic of the Twentieth Century.

This class is taken from the Spiritual Preparation for the New Year course, where you can find the source sheet, and which you can enjoy here.
